Lead Data Scientist - FREIHEIT+ (f/m/d)

freiheit+ is a corporate start-up in Hamburg and part of the listed ZEAL Network SE. We are building a social lottery that provides extra freedom. 20% of our sales go directly to the license holder BildungsChancen gGmbH. This supports initiatives such as SOS Kinderdörfer worldwide, the German Children and Youth Foundation and the Stifterverband. ZEAL Network SE is an international, listed group of companies that has been creating exciting and entertaining lottery experiences for over 20 years. In Germany, we are the largest provider of online lotteries through our brands, LOTTO24 and Tipp24. In Spain we work with the second largest national lottery, ONCE. • Drive and develop a data culture in a start-up situation, delivering analyses, but also checking for data consistency and uncover patterns that drive insights and growth.
• Support the Team Lead and mentor Data Scientists, ensuring code reviews, enforcing tooling, and introducing new Data Science techniques and ways of working.
• Identify and refine strategic projects, working with the Team Lead to define scope and deliverables and prioritize work in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Own high-value projects, break them into tasks, onboard the team, and ensure outcomes and stakeholder communication, adjusting quickly to changing needs.
• Build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and communicate insights to leadership.
• Ensure sustainability of projects through documentation, knowledge sharing, and code access, ensuring scalability in a fast-paced setting.
• Collaborate with other Data teams and facilitate timely involvement in requirements.
• Experiment with ML for analytics and conduct A/B testing for actionable insights.

• Experience in providing agile data solutions in a start-up environment
• You can perform complex analyses, including A/B tests, in either Python or R.
• Experience in some of the following: personalization, Google Analytics, SQL, Shiny Server, Tableau and MS Automate.
• Experience managing data projects, gathering requirements, and ensuring delivery.
• First leadership experience in Data Science, including mentoring and coordination would be a plus.
• Knowledge of project sustainability, documentation, and code accessibility.
• You are able to find pragmatic solutions and adapt to change quickly.
• Familiarity with agile environments, e-commerce metrics, and/or cohort analysis.
• You enjoy expanding your Data Science, ML and programming toolsets, bringing new knowledge into the team.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
